Shaping Skilled Pastry Professionals in Cambodia
Each year, the school selects up to 40 young women from underprivileged backgrounds in Cambodia and provides them with free, high-quality vocational training in pastry and bakery.
The 12-month program includes a 4-month internship in renowned hotels and restaurants in Siem Reap. During the 8 months at the school, students focus on hands-on training in the lab, alongside theoretical courses and essential soft skills development.
The training is fully free, and students also receive accommodation, two meals per day, school supplies and uniforms, a bicycle, and a monthly allowance for personal expenses.

Program Overview
The C1 Pastry Vocational Training program delivered by Bayon Education & Development is a nationally validated C1 qualification under the Ministry of Labour and TVET. It follows a Competency-Based Training (CBT) approach, equipping graduates with professional workplace skills, hygiene and safety knowledge, and core technical pastry competencies, while fostering creativity, discipline, and problem-solving abilities.
Graduates are fully prepared for immediate employment or career advancement in hotels, bakeries, restaurants, and food production units, with the confidence and expertise to thrive in a professional culinary environment.

After graduating from the Bayon Bakery & Pastry School, I worked in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh before returning to my hometown during COVID-19. In 2023, I opened my first small family bakery, managing everything on my own—from production to sales.
Thanks to the technical skills, guidance, and support I received at Bayon, I gained confidence and ambition. Today, I have opened a larger and more modern bakery, a symbol of my growth and hard work. I start every day at 3 a.m., preparing products for wholesale and retail with passion and dedication.
